Objectives of the FFF

The objectives of the Fairer Fee Forum are to ensure that there is more equality in the business relationship between the Providers and the Local Authority/PCTs. Currently the unfairness manifests itself in a few forms:

  • The terms of the Service contract are in favour of the Local Authority/PCTs
  • The Local Authority/PCTs do not comply with the terms of the contract that has been signed
  • Some contacts do not make any provisions for increases in fees paid for the residents
  • No renegotiating of the terms in the case of historic contracts

These issues have to be resolved by addressing the contracts between the providers and the PCTs/Local Authorities. The new contracts must be constructed such that they are not one sided and to ensure a provision is made for the calculation of fee increases in future.
